ABOUT

Addie Citchens was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi, graduated from  Jackson State University, and studied in the Callaloo Workshop. Through themes of Blackness, identity, self-liberation, and body agency, she seeks to subvert the patriarchy and encourage the celebration of self, however that might look. She has been published in The New Yorker, The Paris Review, Midnight&Indigo, and The Oxford American. Her Blues history work is featured heavily in Mississippi Folklife Magazine. FSG's inaugural Writer's Fellow, her debut novel, Dominion, is slated for release in August 2025.
